The inception of this museum was by Agung Rai, who dedicated his life to collecte world-class masterpieces and preserving the heritage of Balinese culture. The Agung Rai Museum of Art which is famously acronym as ARMA showcases the creative works of German artist Walter Spies, who was influenced by the charm of Balinese art and lifestyle. On the other hand, the museum itself is a masterpiece itself, its charmed with traditional Balinese architecture enclosed amidst a beautiful garden and framed with charming water streams that run throughout. The highlight if this museum would be the 19th-century Javanese artist Raden Saleh’s capturing portrait of a Javanese nobleman and his wife.
