Though the royal family left the palace after the mysterious death of King Rama VIII, and does not stay there anymore, the palace is still used for many royal ceremonies. Beautiful buildings, lush heavenly gardens, government residences and the Royal Throne will surely leave you mesmerized. The place has excellent spots that serves as beautiful backgrounds for your pictures. Your entry ticket gives you access to the Grand Palace including Wat Phra Kaew (the Emerald Buddha Temple). Along with this the ticket gives you access to Bang Pa-In Royal Palace in Ayutthaya, Sanam Chandra Palace in Nakhon Pathom and Ananta Samakhom Throne Hall and Vimanmek Mansion in Dusit.

Good to know

  • Photography is allowed in most of the areas. Avoid using camera where the place is clearly mentioned as a no photography zone.
  • You must also take extra care of your attire or you won't be allowed to get in. Women and men both should have their shoulders and knees covered and wear socks. In case you forget, there are stalls selling long pieces of cloth to cover your body.
