Also known as Emerald Buddha, Wat Phra Kaew is a popular Buddhist Temple situated on the grounds of The Grand Palace of Bangkok. Fine architecture and beautiful designing, most parts of the temple are purely made of gold. Extra emphasis on minute detailing, beautifully designed stupas give this place a stunning appearance. The Emerald Buddha is a small statue of Buddha carved on the green stone and placed inside the ordination hall where the monks gather to pray and chant hymns. The inside walls are decorated with mural paintings and depicting the famous Hindu epic Ramayana. While exploring Thailand, this beautiful temple should surely make its space in your to do list.

  • While visiting the Emerald Buddha temple, you must take care of your clothing as Thai temples follow strict rules when it comes to proper dress-up. It is recommended for men and women to wear sleeved shirts and long trousers. Nearby stalls provide scarfs and wraps in case you come unprepared. Also, photography isn't allowed inside the temple.
