Famed as the highest peak in Thailand, the Doi Inthanon National Park sprawls over 482 square km. Its clad with rugged mountains encapsulating a thick forest and peppered with magnificent waterfalls and rivers. The park is a protected national park and because of the statues, its gained its also home for a wide range of animal and plant species. The national park is also the only place in Thailand for bird watching. There are approximately 362 different kinds of bird species and other kinds of animals. Since it has a diverse eco-system, the National Park also stands as a sanctuary to the Northern Hilltribe settlements.
