Speckled with mesmerising rock formation and home to a diverse ethnicity, the Chiang Dao Cave is where beauty unfolds itself. Upon entrance of the cave, you will descend into a well-lit chamber which holds numerous Burmese-style Buddha images and other traditional enshrines. You will also observe the magnificent stalactites and stalagmites rock formations that are created by centuries of dripping water. The walls and the floors are adorned with several Buddha paintings layered with gold leaves. Another main wonder of this place would be the Long Neck Karen ethnic hill tribe who reside by the nearby village – Padung Village. The residents have gained this unique name as they wear brass rings around their necks and wrists. It’s a good opportunity to explore and learn about their culture and also buy some souvenirs.
