One of the first temples built during the change of a new capital under King Mengrai, the Wat Chiang Man holds the true essence of Chiang Mai. The main hall encompasses of a stone slab engraved with scriptures referring to the city’s foundation and the oldest-known Buddha image created by the Lanna Kingdom. The temple complex comprises of different styles in architecture marking it a diverse temple in the city. There is two main meditation hall both embellished with gold-toned and red images with the oldest Buddha statue holding an arms bowl. Wat Chiang Man also has a well-kept garden with manicured lawns so sit and relax.
