Start your day early and be prepared for an amazing experience. You will have to arrange for a boat to take you to mainland Krabi from where you will be taken on a comfortable speed boat to one of to the tropical islands in the Andaman Sea which is sure to win your heart. Located 42 kilometres southwest of Krabi, surrounded by crystal clear waters is the famous island cluster known as Phi Phi that comprises 6 islands namely Phi Phi Don, Phi Phi Leh, Bamboo and Mosquito islands along with Kho Bida Nok and Kho Bida Nai. Phi Phi Don and Phi Phi Leh are the two best known islands, the latter being uninhabited but a hugely popular day tour destination because of Maya Bay – the location of the famous movie- The Beach. Part of the Nopparat Thara beach and the Phi Phi Marine National Park, these idyllic islands are known for their natural beauty. On arrival at Phi Phi Don (the largest of the islands), you can cruise around in the Bay and witness the beautiful scenery of the enclosed National Park on Phi Phi Ley with its stunning lagoon. Sit back and relax on one of the picture-postcard beaches, enjoy the crystal-clear waters or snorkel on the shallow reefs. This will be followed by a wonderful lunch at the beachside restaurant. You will then set off for some island exploration including the Monkey Beach, Bamboo Island and of course, Maya Bay. If you are someone who seeks adventure, there is plenty to do on and off the island, including several watersports that you can enjoy at your own expenses. Maya bay is home to a varied marine life. Two species of clownfish are easy to observe at this spot: pink skunk clownfish, in large numbers, and ocellaris clownfish, a little less common. Among the other common species, the sergeant major fish (which tend to group around the swimmers at the water surface), several species of butterflyfish, parrotfish, as well as many particularly photogenic giant clams, in a wide range of colours can be spotted in plenty. You will then head to the Viking Cave, a large limestone cavern which got its name due to its resemblance to the ancient Viking ships with bamboo scaffoldings. On the inside, you will find ancient paintings and rock carvings as well. At the end of the tour, your transfer will drop you back at your hotel.
