Description

One among the most important 29 Buddhist temple in Phuket, the Wat Chalong was formally known as Wat Chaitararam. The grounds are dotted with viharn, a mondop, a ubosot and a chedi containing a secret relic, a sala and a crematorium. Welcoming visitors with warm hospitality over the centuries locals come to pray and Westerners come to gain more knowledge about Buddhism. The vast hall of the temple is covered with glittering statues and intricate work over its pillars. The walls will unfold the ancient stories decorated with a beautiful painting that narrates the most significant stages in Buddha’s life.
