The Rif Fort is located in the city of Willemstad and is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Very close to the pier, it is accessible to the tourists who are cruising to Curaçao as well! Once built to defend, the fort now shelters eateries, shops, bars, and colorful buildings. Walk across the pontoon bridge to arrive at the Renaissance mall where you can also take the Historical Walking Tour to immerse yourself in the past of Curacao such as its forts, people, languages, culture and more. On the other hand, you could refresh yourself with some delicious ice-cream as the sun streams down or enjoy a cold beer or glass of wine at one of the bars. Shop at the boutique stores for jewelry, local crafts, shell art, and clothes. The views from the top of the fort and the bridge are also worth the visit as you can see the island and its waterways.
